Communist Party of Canada sends message of salute to Cuba on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

Dear comrades,

We send a revolutionary salute to your Party, your President Raúl Castro, and to the Cuban people as a whole on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the glorious Cuban Revolution.
The longevity of the of Cuban Revolution, its many great social, economic and cultural undertakings on behalf of its people, and Cuba’s internationalist solidarity with peoples and nations around the world – all these would stand as marvelous achievements for any revolutionary process. But to achieve all of this in the face of uninterrupted hostility and aggression from the most powerful imperialist state only140 kms. from its shores – this is a truly unparalleled achievement.

The strength of your Revolution derives not only from Cuba’s socialist system and infrastructure, and from the wisdom of its leadership, but also from the power of its revolutionary ideals and principles which together continue to propel Cuba’s transformative process forward. Such dedication is exemplified by the leadership and membership of your Party, by the heroism of the Cuban Five, by the Cuban doctors and medical staff who have rendered selfless assistance both at home and abroad, and by the day-to-day efforts of the Cuban people as a whole to defend their sovereignty, and build a better society and a better world.

As always, you can continue to count on the unflinching solidarity of our Party with the Cuban people and their Government, and with the Communist Party of Cuba!
