Japanese Legislator Praises Cuba’s Public Health and Education
Cuba, December 29 -- Japanese Parliament Deputy Tomoko Abe hailed the revolutionary achievements in education and health during a ceremony before dozens of people in the city of Fujisawa to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
Abe talked about his recent visit to the island and stressed Cuba’s solidarity with other Third World countries by granting scholarships to thousands of youngsters to pursue university studies.
On hand was the Political Counselor from the Cuban embassy in Tokyo, Andres Gonzalez Ballester, who spoke about the efforts made by the Cuban government in the construction of socialism, in spite of a hostile U.S. policy.
The Cuban diplomat pointed to Cuban medical collaboration in several island states in the Pacific, like Kiribati and the Solomon Islands. (cubaminrex - RHC)
