FITUN congratulates the Cuban people on the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary of the Triumph of its Revolution.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, January 9, 2011.- Senator David Abdullah, President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions and other NGO´s (FITUN) of Trinidad and Tobago, congratulated the people and Government of Cuba, on the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary  of its Socialist Revolution.

At the event, where participated leaders and members of the organizations comprised by FITUN, Abdullah also avails the occasion to recognize the importance of the Cuban Revolution and its survival in the Caribbean context and send a message of friendship and solidarity to the Cuban people.  He thanked the support provided by Cuba to the countries of the region in different areas and in particular to Trinidad and Tobago. He expressed that the Cuban people can always count on FITUN solidarity in their struggles.

Meanwhile the Cuban Ambassador in this island, H.E. Humberto Rivero Rosario, expressed appreciation for the strong and permanent support received from FITUN´s organizations over the years, in particular to the struggles of the Cuban people against criminal blockade imposed by the Government of the United States, the release of the Cuban Five Heroes, among others.  (Cubaminrex - Embacuba Trinidad and Tobago)
