Argentina Solidarity Meeting on Cuba 5
ARGENTINA, October 8, 2009. The case of the five Cuban anti-terrorists unfairly imprisoned in the United States since 1998 will be in the center of the 9th National Meeting of Argentina's Solidarity with Cuba Movement, to open Friday.
"A ten-year-old story, the different courts, a battle for peace" will be among the aspects to be analyzed by the first commission of the meeting, to take place in Santiago del Estero city.
Organizing committee sources told Prensa Latina the forum would also deal with The Five's imprisonment and international solidarity rallies demanding their immediate release.
The human rights situation of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez, and the reiterated denial of visas to their wives and relatives will be presented as well.
Another four working groups in the meeting will cope with the battle of ideas and the media battle, fighting the US blockade, and the movement's organization and coordination.
The fifth commission will debate aspects regarding Latin American nations' unity and integration. (Cubaminrex- PL)
