Argentinean Municipality Demands Release of the Cuban Five
ARGENTINE, November 19, 2009.- The Honorable City Council of Berisso municipality in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina has asked U.S. President Barack Obama to free the five Cuban antiterrorists held in U.S. prisons for more than eleven years now.
In the letter addressed to the U.S. president, they also urge for an end to U.S. blockade against Cuba, which has been in place for the past 48 years. And they demanded that the U.S. government return to Cuba the territory occupied by the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo.
The Second Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Argentina Vladimir Mirabal received a certificate signed by Enrique Slezack, Berissoâ’ s mayor, in order to send it to Antonio Guerrero for his participation on the low-budget cinema workshop held in that city, given by professor Ugo Adam. He used in his presentation poems written by Guerrero, which along Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino and Rene Gonzalez was arrested and incarcerated in 1998. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
