Spanish Communist Party demands end to mistreatment of Gerardo Hernández

ESPAÑA, August 2, 2010.- The Communist Party of Spain (PCE), denounces that one of the Cuban Five, Gerardo Hernandez, is for FBI decision, from Wednesday July 21 once again locked in a punishment cell (the Hole), without ventilation and under temperatures above 35*C, and without any contact with the outer world, conditions that seriously undermine his health and physical integrity.

José Luis Centella General Secretary of the PCE and Maite Mola Head of International Policy of the PCE joined the movement in solidarity with Cuba against this serious injustice being committed against one of our Five Heroes.

An statement issued by the PCE, says they’re trying to obstruct justice, making impossible for Gerardo to communicate with his lawyers before their application for habeas corpus, the last legal recourse that is left in the American judicial system to defend against the unjust condemnation of two life sentences and more than 15 years in prison.
