Argentinean Climbers Place Cuban 5 Flag on Top of Mount Aconcagua
ARGENTINA, January 11, 2010. - A flag demanding the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the US for thwarting terrorist actions against Cuba is flying on top of Mount Aconcagua, as a solidarity gesture by three Argentinean young people.
They are radio and television host Santiago Vega, bank clerk Aldo Bonavitta and social activist Alcides Bonavitta, all from the province of Neuquen who climbed to the top of that mountain, also known as the Roof of the Americas, which is 22,831 feet above sea level.
The flag features the Cuban Five logo created by Gerardo Hernandez, one of the Cuban Five.
The aim is to join to the world demand for the freedom of Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino and Fernando Gonzalez, and break the silence of the international media around this case. (Cubaminrex - RHC)
