Free the Five and lifting the blockade demanded in Colombo.
SRI LANKA, August 29TH, 2010.- The last session of the 19th Congress of Sri Lankan Communist Party approved a resolution demanding immediately the freedom for the Cuban Five antiterrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the US.
The resolution, that was approved unanimously by more than 2 hundred delegates attending the meeting, reiterated the position of Sri Lankan communist in support of the Cuban struggle for the freedom of the Five, that are close to complete 12 years of unjust imprisonment.
To remember them and the injustice against them, a bill board with their photos was hung near the place of the party meeting where delegates to Congress, international invitees from friendly organizations and passers-by could see it.
The 19th Congress also approved a resolution calling US to end its blockade against Cuba.
