The Saint Lucia-Cuba Humanistic Solidarity Association and the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Five in St Lucia calls for the release of the Cuban Five.
SAINT LUCIA, October 4, 2010.- The Saint Lucia - Cuba Humanistic Solidarity Association, along with the Committee in Defense of the Cuban Five in Saint Lucia continues to call for the release of the five Cubans imprisoned in the United States over the past twelve years, accused by U.S authorities of spying.
These five heroes were in the United States to draw attention to U.S. Authorities of acts of terrorism being planned and executed from the shores of the United States against the Government and people of Cuba. For this act, they were arrested and remain imprisoned over this long period, unable to receive family visits.
The Committee in Defense of the Cuban Five in Saint Lucia has written letters to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton demanding the release of the Cuban five.
The Association is also calling for the lifting of the blockade imposed on Cuba, which only serves to increase the burden on the Cuban people and further calls for the Obama Administration to lift the restrictions on Americans travelling to Cuba. The Association calls for all Saint Lucians to join in the call for the release of the Five and the lifting of the Blockade on Cuba.-
