Namibia 6th of September 2011.- Within the current context of the “El 5 por los Cincos” (the 5th for the Cuban Five) and in commemoration for the unjust 13 years of imprisonment of the anti-terrorist Cuban Five, a solidarity event began this week in Windhoek, Namibia. Its aim is to raise awareness in favor of the liberation of the five compatriots and the extradition to Venezuela of self-confessed terrorist and Cuban born Luis Posada Carriles.
The event that will last throughout the month of September, began yesterday with the mailing of letters from different committees of Cuban collaborators that render their services in Namibia and today the letter of ‘Asociación Patria’ (Homeland Association) from the Cuban residents in the country, to the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, demanding the liberation of the Cuban Five Heroes.
The “Association of Former Students in Cuba” along with the “Namibia and Cuba Friendship Association” and other organizations that support Cuba in Windhoek, have organized a popular demonstration for the next September 12th in front of the United States of America Embassy, to demand the end of the blockade on Cuba and the liberation of the anti-terrorist Cuban Five Heroes.
During the month of September, meetings will be attended by the organizations which support Cuba, the Cuban Collaborators Team and Association “Patria” of the Cuban residents in Namibia, to discuss the manipulated affair of the Cuban Five and interviews on the matter will be given to different Namibian press agencies.
