Salvadorians and Panamanians Climb Mountains for the Cuban Five.
CUBA, February 7th, 2011.- Solidarity-with-Cuba organizations climbed the Tecana hill in El Salvador and the Baru volcano in Panama to demand that the U.S. government immediately release the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly incarcerated in the United States.
Members of the Salvadoran organizations climbed to the top of the Tecana, some 700 meters above sea level to reject the imprisonment of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and René Gonzalez. They also read a message to demand the end of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, according to Prensa Latina news agency.
The group, headed by Jonathan Gonzalez from the Movimiento Juventud Patriótica Popular, started climbing the 3,475 meter (11401 feet) high volcano this Sunday.
