Cuban Vice President in Bolivia for New Latinamerican Integration
La Paz, May 26, 2006 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's President Evo Morales welcomed at the Government Headquarter Cuba's Vice President Carlos Lage, who started a working visit in this capital.
After meeting Thursday, Morales and Lage were welcomed by members of groups of solidarity and friendship with the island, who cheered "Long Live Cuba" and "Long Live Fidel Castro."
Lage is due to attend Friday the signing of a cooperation agreement
between Bolivia and Venezuela in a public act in Shinahota, Chapare, and where the governing Movement towards Socialism will carry out an electoral campaign.
The Cuban official praised the decision by presidents from Bolivia, Cuba and Venezuela to work together for Latin American integration, based on solidarity and independent of US-boosted Free Trade Agreements.
"This is an important visit," stated Lage, "because it continues the ALBA agreements signed by the three countries' heads of States in Havana on April 28."
