ALBA to Participate in Uruguayan Expo Prado

URUGUAY, September 10, 2007.- The principles of solidarity and complementation that identify the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas ALBA were highlighted by Bolivian, Cuban and Venezuelan Ambassadors in Uruguay.

The diplomats attended a press conference to announce the official inauguration of the ALBA pavilion in Expo-Prado, the largest and oldest Uruguayan Fair, to jointly present the exhibitions of their country and those of the integrationist bloc.

We are the only ones that work in unison, out of the 11 participant countries, Ambassadors Marielena Ruiz Capote (Cuba), Franklin Gonzalez (Venezuela) and Marcelo Janko (Bolivia) expressed.

Bolivia and Cuba take part for the first time in this 102nd edition of the Uruguayan Fair, but Venezuela has already been present in the last three editions.

Nicaragua is the only ALBA member nation missing at Expo.

There is also a representation from Iran, nation that has already announced their decision of joining the bloc as observer.

The pavilion of ALBA will exhibit the results of their cooperation in the area of health, education, culture and sports.

Other foreign representations are Argentina, Brazil, China, Spain and Mexico, as well as Chile and Panama, participating for the first time. (Cubaminrex-PL)
