Venezuela, Bolivia Boost ALBA

VENEZUELA, February 7, 2007.- Venezuela and Bolivia, both members of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), are currently working towards an equitable integration process.

In the framework of those efforts, Bolivia s Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca and Venezuela s Nicolas Maduro reviewed in this capital collaboration issues in sectors like energy and finances.

The two countries are now expanding their links with 26 bilateral accords inked in the context of their entrance to the ALBA.

Among the most significant agreements is Venezuelan support for industrialization, including the installment of two plants to recover gas.

Venezuela also plans important investments in the prospecting process of fuel reserves and Bolivia will export to the former soy and beans, while increasing sectors like meat.

Bolivia likewise receives support for its education plans with 5,000 scholarships to train professionals, mainly in the hydrocarbon and health sectors. (Cubaminrex-PL).
