Presidents Raul Castro and Daniel Ortega Meet in Havana
CUBA, April 22, 2009. Cuban President Raul Castro and his counterpart from Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, held a working meeting in Havana on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report on Cuba’s National Television News, the meeting is part of the Nicaraguan Head of State’s ongoing visit to the archipelago. The two leaders exchanged criteria on the current international situation and especially that of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Also tackled were aspects related to the tasks undertaken by the two countries to face the great challenges of today’s world, underlined the source.
Present in the meeting were, for Cuba, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and the head of the Ideological Department of the central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Rolando Alfonso; and the Secretary for Communications and Civil Responsibility of the Nicaraguan government, Rosario Murillo.
