Grenada's Foreign Minister Holds Official Talks with Cuban Counterpart

CUBA, February 23 de 2009.- Grenada's Foreign Affairs and Tourism Minister, Peter Charles David, and his Cuban counterpart, Felipe Perez Roque, on Monday reaffirmed the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The Grenadian diplomat, currently on an official visit to Cuba at the invitation of Minister Perez Roque, voiced his country's support for Cuba's demands for the end of Washington's economic, commercial and financial blockade.

For his part, Perez Roque said Minister David's visit is a boost to Cuba's relationship with the new government of Grenada.

Likewise, he thanked the Caribbean nation and all member states of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) for its friendship and solidarity with Cuba's struggle against the U.S. siege.

The Cuban Foreign Minister added that during his stay in Cuba, Mr. David would analyze the international situation caused by the current crisis and the impact on the economies of Caribbean countries.

Minister Peter Charles David is slated to hold official talks with other top-government Cuban leaders. He will also meet with Grenadian students training on the island.
