Belize, 26 of July, 2009. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Belize, Hon. Wilfred Erlington, in a personal call to the Cuban Ambassador to Belize, congratulated Cuba on behalf of the Belizean people on this new anniversary of the 26 of July. the Cuban ambassador thanked the Belizean people for its friendship and reviewed with the Minister the principle aspects of the speech made by Army General Raul Castro in Holguin. In live radio and TV programs, Minister Erlington and the Palacio brothers, both youths graduated in Cuban Universities, commented on this historical date for Cuba and demonstrated their friendship and solidarity. The fundamental aspects of President Raul Castro’s speech were also highlighted as well as the recognition for Cuba’s cooperation in Belize and the efforts made by the Cuban people to recuperate the devastation caused by the hurricanes of late 2008.
