Dominican President to Cuba CUBA, March 2, 2009. The Dominican Republic´s President Leonel Fernandez is to arrive in Cuba Monday on an official visit, to foster and enhance ties of friendship and cooperation. Fernandez" agenda here includes official talks with his Cuban peer Raul Castro, as well as attendance at the 11th International Economists Meeting on Globalization and Development Problems, Granma newspaper reported today. Also on the list is visiting sites of historic, scientific and social interest in this capital and the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba. Fernandez has joined the list of Latin American presidents to visit Cuba this year, among them Martin Torrijos (Panama), Rafael Correa (Ecuador), Cristina Fernandez (Argentina), Michelle Bachelet (Chile), Alvaro Colom (Guatemala) and Hugo Chavez (Venezuela).
