Honduran President and Cuban VP at International Forum of Economists

CUBA, March 3, 2009. Honduran President Jose Manuel Zelaya and Cuban First Vice-president Jose Ramon Machado Ventura participated on Tuesday in the 11th International Meeting of Economists on Globalization and Development Issues, underway at Havana's Convention Centre.

Scheduled to address participants is 1999 Nobel Economy Prize winner, US expert Robert Mundell, on the financial crisis and the international monetary system.

The program also includes the panels "From financial crisis to global economic crisis: impacts and lessons", and "Hegemony and counter-hegemony within the framework of global crisis".

Attending the event are over 1,500 delegates from 46 nations, who will meet in the Cuban capital until March 6 to debate 255 papers on issues related to the current world financial and economic crisis. (Cubaminrex- ACN)
