Raul Castro Meets Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago

CUBA, March 30, 2009. Cuban President Raul Castro met on Sunday with visiting Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Patrick Manning and shared opinions on diverse topics of common interest.

According to Granma news daily, during their talks both leaders ratified their determination to continue strengthening bilateral ties.

 

Raul and Manning agreed on the importance of supporting efforts towards the integration of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manning extended an invitation to Raul to visit Trinidad and Tobago at a date he considers appropriate. The Cuban president accepted the invitation and expressed his appreciation to the visiting Caribbean leader.

Also participating in the meeting was Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla; Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Local Governments, Hazel Manning; and Lester Efebo Wilkinson, Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago in Havana.(Cubaminrex- ACN)
