CUBA, October 22, 2009. The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, held a fraternal meeting with Lenín Moreno Garces, Vice President of Ecuador, reported Granma newspaper. In a lively conversation, Fidel and Moreno exchanged about the international situation and, in particular, that of Latin America and about the growing collaboration between Cuba and Ecuador, especially in the health sector. On behalf of his government and people, Moreno told Fidel how much he appreciated the help of the Cuban doctors, geneticists and technicians, in particular those involved in the Manuela Espejo Mission. Moreno gave the Cuban historical leader the Manuela Espejo Order, granted by the Ecuadorian vice presidency in recognition of Fidel’s efforts for the development of this important social mission that is currently underway in Ecuador.
