Presentation about the Impact of the US Blockade against Cuba.in the Ontario Provincial Parliament
CANADA, October 08th, 2009. On the morning of Thursday October 8, 2009, at the Ontario Provincial Parliament, Jorge Soberon, Consul General of Cuba in the city of Toronto, Canada, presented a report on the impact of the economic, financial and commercial blockade maintained by the government of the United States against Cuba, despite the rejection that policy generates internationally, a fact that is demonstrated every year through the voting by members of the General Assembly of the United Nations on this issue. The Provincial Parliamentarians asked about the damage that this policy does to the welfare and development of the Cuban population, the possibilities of ending that policy and its impact on the relations between Cuba and Canada. During the activity, a summary of the 2009 report of Cuba before the United Nations on this issue: "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the U.S. against Cuba", was presented to Members of Parliament.
