Ricardo Cabrisas Meets with FM from Belize

The Vice-president of the Cuban Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas with Belizean Minister of Foreign Affairs an Foreign Trade Wilfred ElringtonCUBA, October 23, 2009. The Vice-president of the Cuban Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, met on Friday in this capital with Belizean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Wilfred Elrington.

During the meeting, held at the building of the Council of Ministers, Cabrisas highlighted the fraternity his country receives from all Caribbean nations.

There’s a deep level of understanding between Cuba and the rest of the countries in this region, he said, and recalled that Cuba has always maintained “a policy of solidarity and cooperation toward these neighboring peoples.”

Elrington thanked Cuba for its solidarity and pointed out that “it’s an issue that is
always present among peoples in the area”.

After expressing his gratitude for the warm reception received in Havana since his arrival, the Belizean FM assured that he and his delegation feel at home.

On Friday morning, Elrington placed a wreath by the monument to Cuba’s National Hero Jose Marti located at Revolution Square, after which he met with Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez at the Foreign Ministry. The two top officials reviewed the state of bilateral relations, in a cordial atmosphere.

Accompanying the Belizean FM during his meeting with Cabrisas are Pablo Marin and Sadi Badi Guerra, Public Health Minister and Belizean ambassador to Cuba, respectively.

Elrington and his delegation arrived in Havana on Wednesday for an official visit, at the invitation of Rodriguez.

The distinguished visitor is heading his country’s delegation to the 12th Cuba-Belize Intergovernmental Meeting, and during his stay on the island will tour places of historical and scientific interest. (Cubaminrex- ACN)
