Chilean Parliament Leader Sends Support Letter to Raul Castro CUBA, April 28, 2010. The leader of the Human Rights Commission of the Chilean Parliament Hugo Gutierrez sent Cuban President Raul Castro a letter to express his solidarity in the face of the mass media campaign against Cuba. “We close lines with you, when the new bunch of lies and slanders becomes more intense” reads the letter from the Chilean Communist Party deputy for Iqueque, which was read at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp, in the Caimito municipality, in Havana province. During an encounter between the 5th May Day International Brigade with relatives of the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly incarcerated in the United States, the member who read the letter spoke of the unrestricted affection the Chilean legislator feels for Cuba and its Revolution. Gutierrez also sent his regards and solidarity to Raul, to the Cuban leader Fidel Castro and the noble Cuban people. He also recalled some of the solidarity Cuba gave his country, especially during the Unidad Popular Administration, led by Salvador Allende, 1970-1973, and later against the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship. In times of natural catastrophes, the selfless and important help of this people and their government have always been ready, pointed out Gutierrez in his letter. (Cubaminrex- ACN) |
