President of Paraguayan Communist Party on a Visit to Cuba CUBA, Apr 15, 2010. - The President of the Paraguayan Communist Party is on a visit to Cuba and was received by Jorge Marti, head of the Department of International Relations of the Cuban Communist Party’s Central Committee. During the meeting, Maidana, a historic fighter against Alfredo Strossner’s dictatorship in his country, conveyed greetings from his Party and the Paraguayan people to the Cuban Revolution, as well as their support of the revolutionary process on the island, the Granma newspaper reports on Thursday. He also spoke about the situation in Paraguay and the struggle to promote changes in favor of the great majority of the population. For his part, Marti tackled the efforts of the Cuban people and government and the Communist Party to confront the effects of the serious world economic crisis and preserve the achievements of the Revolution. Likewise, the expressed his appreciation for Maidana’s solidarity and support in the face of the media campaign currently launched against Cuba. (Cubaminrex - acn)
