Cuban Ambassador to Grenada Attends Ceremony on the Occasion of the Bicentennial Declaration of Independence of Venezuela


GRENADA, 19 April 2010. Cuban Ambassador to Grenada, Ángel Reigosa de la Cruz, attended a ceremony held in the outskirts of St. George’s to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela.  The ceremony was presided over by the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Grenada, Carlos Pérez, and the Prime Minister of Grenada, Tillman Thomas.

In his remarks, the Venezuelan Ambassador recalled what happened on 19 April 1810 and the subsequent fight for the Independence in the then Captaincy General of Venezuela.
On his part, the Prime Minister, Tillman Thomas, in his remarks praised Grenada’s relations with the sister nation of South America.

The ceremony was also attended by Foreign Minister Peter David, other members of the NDC Cabinet and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to St, George´s. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Granada)
