Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Meets with Fidel and Raul.

CUBA, August 25th, 2010.- Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, had a moving and fraternal meeting on Wednesday.

For some five hours, the two leaders tackled different issues of international topicality, particularly the serious risks of a nuclear war, threatening mankind.

The Bolivarian leader acknowledged the outstanding role Fidel is playing in the achievement of a universal awareness to prevent a war of incalculable consequences for the human race
, and expressed his satisfaction for the excellent state of health of the Commander in Chief.

During the fruitful exchange, the leader of the Cuban Revolution shared with Chavez passages of his new book “The Strategic Counteroffensive,” about to be published, which narrates details of the revolutionary war, from the defeat of the dictatorship’s offensive in mid 1958 to the triumph of January 1st, 1959.

Later, the Venezuelan President met with Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers. During the encounter, they reviewed the development of the exemplary political and economic bonds existing between the two nations.

Raul accompanied Chavez to the capital’s “Jose Marti” International Airport, where he went to see him off late afternoon Wednesday. (Cubaminrex - ACN)
