Suriname Foreign Minister to Cuba

CUBA, Jan 11, 2010. - Surinamese Foreign Minister Lygia Louise Irene Kraag-Keteldijk is beginning her official visit to Cuba on Monday, on an invitation by this country''s peer Bruno Rodriguez.

According to her agenda, both ministers will hold talks, and Kraag-Keteldijk will preside over the official opening ceremony of her nation's embassy in this capital, national press reported.

Suriname business attaché to Havana Ike Desmond Antonius said recently that relations between the two countries, established at a diplomatic level on March 23, 1979, are excellent.

Desmond Antonius stated that the cooperation with Cuba, where about 60 Surinamese students are being trained, have been strengthened mainly in education, health and sports. ( Cubaminrex - Prensa Latina)
