INDONESIA, February 16, 2010. With the presence of more than 100 executives and officials from the tourist sector and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was celebrated on February 15 in Bandung, a Round Table to analyze the opportunities for the promotion of the cooperation of the tourism of Indonesia with the Latin American and the Caribbean countries. In the event, the Cuban Ambassador Jorge León offered a brief dissertation on the tourism in Cuba and presented a video, filmed by the national television channel of Indonesia "TVRI" (Television of the Republic of Indonesia) in the Embassy of Cuba in Jakarta, in which was offered a panoramic view on the origin, the establishment and evolution of the bilateral relations between Cuba and Indonesian, different information on the history of Cuba, the education, sports, cultural, and artistic development of the Cuban people, their traditions, customs, culinary Cuban and the extensive cooperation that Cuba extend to other countries, fundamentally in the medical attention, as well as diverse images and explanations on the different places of tourist and historic interest of Cuba. Upon answering some of the questions of the participants, the Cuban diplomat emphasized that in the framework of the activities that are being carried out in this 2010 in commemoration of the 50 Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Indonesian, was expected to celebrate in Jakarta the VI Session of the Intergovernmental Commission between Indonesia and Cuba, what will permit also to achieve agreements of cooperation in the sector of the tourism of both countries. In the event they were distributed pamphlets of tourist promotion of Cuba and the presentation in power point exposed by the Head of the Cuban diplomatic Mission, all which undoubtedly contributed to a greater disclosure of the cultural roots and Cuban traditions and to a greater exchange and mutual influence between Cuba and Indonesia.
