Cuban film festival in Jakarta: 50 Aniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba-Indonesia INDONESIA, July 20, 2010.- On the occasion of the 50 Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Cuba and Indonesia, it was inaugurated the Cuban Film Festival in Jakarta in the Art and Cultural Center “Bentara Budaya” from Kompas-Gramedia. In the opening ceremony they took the floor the President of the Institution of Art and Culture and journalist of the daily one KOMPAS, Mr. Irwan Julianto, and the Deputy Chief Editor of the KOMPAS, Mr. Trias Kuncahyono, and the Cuban Ambassador Jorge León. Mr. Julianto emphasized the celebration of so important event and ratified the interest in contributing to the strengthening the cultural links between Indonesia and Cuba. Mr. Kuncahyono, was congratulated for the excellent state of the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cuba and ratifies his will to continue working for its deepening. The Cuban diplomat ratified the desires and will to continue working for the consolidation of the excellent existing bilateral links among both countries, which they have been forged solidly during these 50 years of diplomatic relations and he offered a brief panoramic on the films and documentaries, which have received the applause and recognition of the public, the positive criticism of juries and the international prizes received. There were present the Ambassadors of the GRULAC and Iberoamerica and members of the diplomatic corps, as well as personalities linked to the cultural and social life and a numerous group of lovers of the seventh art. The Cuban Film Festival will be celebrated during July 19, 20 and 21 and it is expected that this activity will contribute to the disclosure of the values and Cuban culture.
