Prime Minister from Grenada Pays Tribute to Cuba’s National Hero Jose Marti
CUBA, Mar 1, 2010. - The Primer Minister of Grenada, Tillman Thomas, paid tribute on Monday in this capital to Jose Marti.
The head of state placed a wreath by the monument named after the Cuban National Hero located at Havana’s Revolution Square, accompanied by Cuba’s Deputy Foreign Minister Jose Ramon Cabañas.
Next, he toured the monument’s facilities, where he received a detailed explanation on aspects of Cuban history and of the life of the national hero of the struggle for independence.
Thomas arrived in Cuba on Sunday at the invitation of Cuban President Raul Castro, with whom he’ll hold talks on Monday after the official welcoming ceremony at Revolution Square.
The 63-year old leader, who is a lawyer, an economist, and a graduate in Legal Education, took up his current post in 2008, and he also holds the posts of Legal Matters, National Security, Public Administration, Culture and Information Technologies and Communications. (Cubaminreex - acn) |
