The 13th of March and International Women's Day are commemorated in Saint Lucia SAINT LUCIA, March 14th, 2010. - A detailed account on the events which preceded the Assault on the Presidential Palace and the leadership of José Antonio Echeverría in the heroic action ended up being the center of the activity held by the group of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Saint Lucia, to commemorate the 13th of March. At the activity, the participants made interventions in which the role of Cuban youth for our definitive independence was valued and recognized as well as the importance of supporting these values. It was an auspicious moment to debate why the 8th of March was chosen as International Women´s Day, as well as to recognise the participation and integration of Cuban females in all aspects of our society. The commemorations for the 8th of March concluded with a political and cultural activity completed today, 14th March, with all the members of the Cuban State Mission in Saint Lucia.
