Commemorated in Antigua and Barbuda the day of the Cuban culture

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, October 22, 2010.- With a touching and enthusiastic activity was commemorated at the compound of the embassy of Cuba in Antigua and Barbuda the day of the Cuban culture, place historically in the calendar of our mother country in the date of the 20 of October. This celebration registers a transcendental event, with deep historical patriotic value and artistic for it brings back to consciousness national, the Bayamesa or National Anthem was first performed during the Battle of Bayamo and was wrote and composed by Pedro Figueredo, who took part in the battle.

The event was presided over by the Cuban Ambassador Jose Manuel Inclán Embade also attended by Mr Anthony Liverpool Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Antigua, Mr Lenox Fhillip president of the parent’s association of Antiguans students in Cuba, embassy officials, members of the collaboration brigades working in Antigua and a representation of the Cuban community residents.

In developing the same had manifestations of our national culture represented in the reading of the poem my flag and other, singing traditional Cuban point which brightened and highlighted at the touch of Cuban activity that characterizes our people. Later releases were read in salute to date by the participants who made a call to write to president Obama calling for immediate release of five brothers imprisoned by the empire in USA jails for fighting terrorism and urging the world to join the international outcry in this battle.

It was exciting in its final moments enlivened by the group members Snuff Van music¨ Guantanamera interpretation of the traditional sung by the audience, showing that Cuban culture is present in all parts of the world as a hallmark of our most precious wealth represented in all art forms.
