Ambassador of Cuba presented his Letter of Credence

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, November 2nd, 2009.- The New Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago presented his Letter of Credence on 2nd November
.
Humberto Rivero Rosario, the new Cuban Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, presented his Credence to His Excellency Professor George Maxwell Richards, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. During the ceremony both exchange views on the positive development of the bilateral relations, in particular, the President expressed his recognition to the assistance paid by the Cuban Government in the area of health as well as agriculture.
The Cuban Ambassador recognized the long standing position of Trinidad and Tobago against the blockade imposed by the Government of United States to the island and thanked, on behalf of the Cuban Government, the support of Trinidad and Tobago to the resolution presented by Cuba during the 64 period of session of the United Nations General Assembly on this matter.
Prior this meeting Ambassador Rivero paid a courtesy call to the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the courtesy call, Minister Gopee-Scoon and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago. Discussions were extremely cordial and included, among other topics, technical cooperation between both countries. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Trinidad and Tobago)
