Activity promoting tourism in Cuba held in the Canadian capital.
Canada, June 14, 2010. Last June 7, a successful activity for promoting tourism in Cuba was held in the salons of the Hotel Chateau Cartier of the Canadian capital. More than sixty travel agents gathered to listen to specialized presentations on Cuba and its tourist attractions. The activity was organized by Hola Sun Company, a leading tour operator in the Canadian market. For years, Canada has established itself as the main source of tourists to Cuba, it is worth noting that in the past six years, Cuba has received more than two million visitors, with a sustained increase of travellers from Canada, which contributed last year 2009 with almost 50% of the total.Jorge Félix Salazar, General Manager of Hola Sun, noted that the presentation in Ottawa is inserted into a group of promotion activities that the company is undertaking in several Canadian cities. The executive stressed they hope that in the next tourist season there will be direct charter flights from Ottawa to several tourist destinations in Cuba, which does not happen today.At the conclusion of presentations, the guests enjoyed a cultural part enlivened by the popular Cuban group "Arnaldo y su Talisman, under the direction of the young musician Arnaldo Rodriguez, who made his first trip to Canada with performances not only in Ottawa but in the cities of Toronto and Kingston. Classic themes of the Cuban repertoire were played by the talented group as well as their most popular current hits that made sing and dance all the presents.The activity was attended by several members of Cuba's diplomatic mission in Canada, headed by the Ambassador, Teresita Vicente Sotolongo.
