Friends of Cuba Celebrate July 26th in Canada OTTAWA, July 26, 2011.- To mark the 58th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Army Barrack in Santiago de Cuba, groups of several cities across Canada celebrated with joy the “Day of the Rebel”, in solidarity with Cuba. Vancouver, Toronto, Kingston and Ottawa saw the love and confidence in the Cuban Revolution, and economic and social policy, defined in the Guidelines adopted at the Sixth Congress of the Cuban Communist Party. The events were attended by Maria de la Luz B'Hammel, Charge d'Affaires a.i., who moved the gratitude of the Cuban people for the support of the Cuba solidarity movement in the struggle against the blockade and for the release of the Cuban Five, prisoners in U.S. jails.
