Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and Ecuador Hold Official Conversations
HAVANA, December 22, 2011.- Yesterday afternoon, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, the minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and the minister of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Integration of Ecuador, Ricardo Armando Patiño Aroca, held official conversations.
During the friendly Exchange, both officials reviewed the current situation of the bilateral relations and expressed the willingness of Cuba and Ecuador to continue strengthen these relations.
The Cuban Minister appreciated Ecuador´s traditional support to the Cuban people and Government´s struggle against the unjust blockade imposed by the United States, as well as the Ecuadorian solidarity with the cause of the Cuban Five Heroes.
The meeting served for both Ministers to discussed issues of regional and international interest. Both authorities highlighted the importance of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States commencement during the Summit celebrated in Caracas, Venezuela, last December 2-3.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by His Excellency José María Borja, undersecretary of Latin American and Caribbean issues, as well as other officials of the Ecuadorian Chancery. Rogelio Sierra Díaz, Deputy Minister, and other officials of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were accompanying Minister Bruno Rodríguez.
After the official conversations, both delegations signed the Cooperation Covenant for mutual Judicial Assistance. (Cubaminrex)
