Cuba-Ecuador Meetings on Political Consultation Wrapped Up. CUBA, February 1st, 2011.- (acn) Foreign Affairs ministers of Cuba and Ecuador, Bruno Rodriguez and Ricardo Patiño, respectively, signed a joint communiqué of the 2nd Meeting of the Mechanism for Political Consultations held in Quito. Both ministers agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to continue boosting Latin American and Caribbean integration starting from a fair and equitable system of international relations, Prensa Latina reported. They mentioned as a positive aspects they high number of points in common between the two countries which enabled a smooth dialogue. The two ministers agreed to diversify the fields of coordination and to increase the frequency of bilateral meetings at different government levels. They commended the progress on health programs particularly of the Manuela Espejo Mission of Solidarity and the Miracle Operation. Patiño thanked the Cuban people and government for the collaboration not only in health care, but also in education and sports. (Cubaminrex-Cuban News Agency)
