Cuba participates in the Ministerial Meeting of the Association of Caribbean States. TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, January 26, 2011.- Headed by the Deputy Minister in charge of the Latin America and the Caribbean area in the Ministry of Foreing Affairs of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra, yesterday afternoon arrived to Trinidad and Tobago the Cuban delegation whose going to participate in the 16th Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States, which will take place in this capital on January 28, preceded by two days of preparatory meetings. The Caribbean States Association founded on 24 July 1994 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia for the purpose of promoting consultation, cooperation and concerted action among all countries of the Caribbean, comprise 25 Members States and three Associated Members. Cuba attends this event in its capacity of Vice President of the Ministerial Council. Nicaragua is currently the President of this body. During the event delegations will take a look to the work done by the Organization since the last Ministerial held in Cartagena, Colombia January 22, 2010, to date.
