Cuban Vice President Machado Ventura Meets with Cooperants in Venezuela

VENEZUELA, January 3rd, 2011.-  Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura met with leaders of the Cuban missions in Venezuela and received information on the works to assist the victims of the heavy rains that have affected this nation.

Immediately after arriving, last Sunday afternoon, Machado met with leaders of all the Cuban missions and made a balance of the work done on 2010, including the assistance to more than 130 000 citizens grouped in shelters due to the intense rains.

The Cuban representative expressed his recognition to the more than 2 000 cooperants working on emergency tasks, and reiterated the disposition of the 44 000 cooperants to make their best efforts for the well being of the Venezuelan people.

Machado will also meet with Venezuelan to reaffirm the support of the Cuban government and people after the tragic events caused by the rains.  (Cubaminrex-Cuban News Agency)
