CUBA, January 5th, 2011.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez met on Tuesday in Caracas with Cuba’s First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, who is on an official visit to this South American nation. According to Cuban television, the meeting took place at the Miraflores Palace —the seat of the Venezuelan government— and they spoke about the excellent state of bilateral relations and other topics of common interest. Present were the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla; the island’s ambassador to Caracas, Rogelio Polanco; the Secretary of the Cuban Council of State, Homero Acosta; and the head of the Cuban cooperation brigades in Venezuela, Roberto Lopez. The Venezuelan ministers of Foreign Affairs, Nicolas Maduro, and of Oil, Rafael Ramirez, also participated. (Cubaminrex-Cuban News Agency)
