Machado Ventura Tours Health Centers in Venezuela.

CUBA, January 4th, 2011.- Cuba's First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, on Monday visited the Los Flores de Catia and Jack Black Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) in the Venezuelan capital.

Accompanied by Executive Vice President, Elias Jaua, Machado spoke with Cuban doctors serving in these health institutions.

He also toured the intensive care and observation wards of the CDI, where the Venezuelan people receive free medical care, reported Prensa Latina.

The Cuban First Vice President spoke with patients who are being treated in these institutions.
He showed interest in the work of the physicians from the island in the shelters, which are housing some 130,000 flood victims from last November.

For his part, Jaua described the assistance of the Cuban specialists in centers provided by the Government as invaluable and said that thanks to their preventive work no epidemic has been reported.

Machado arrived yesterday in Venezuela on a working visit and was welcomed at Maiquetia International Airport, State of Vargas, by Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro and National Assembly President Cilia Flores. Also present was the Ambassador from Havana in Caracas, Rogelio Polanco.

Venezuela and Cuba, as members of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America, have important cooperation agreements on energy, health and education. (Cubaminrex-Granma)
