President of the Senate meets with Cuban Ambassador. TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, January 19, 2011.- Senator Timothy Hammel-Smith, President of the Senate of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, received today the Cuban Ambassador in this island, Humberto Rivero Rosario. During the talks, which took place at the “Red House”, headquarter of the Trinidadian Parliament, both personalities make vows to deepen further the ties between both countries and accordingly they agreed on the convenience to develop the exchanges between the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the National Assembly of the People´s Power of the Republic of Cuba. The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to give an explanation to the President of the Senate on the negative consequences of the US blockade against Cuba, as well as about the national discussion process of the economic and social policy guidelines draft, whose primary purpose is to adjust the economic and social development of Cuba to better meets the interests and the needs of the Cuban people.
