CUBA, July 1, 2011.- Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, reiterated on Friday his confidence in his total recovery and in the future of his work for the Bolivarian Revolution and regional unity.

In the closing minutes of the Round Table aired by Cuban radio and television, the  Venezuelan head of state got in contact with the program via telephone from the place where  he’s recovering and, after praising the attentions he has received, said he’s absolutely confident in the future.

I’m grateful to this people and their physicians, for the treatment, and we will advance towards our goals with our peoples, said the Bolivarian leader at the end of his conversation with Randy Alonso, presenter of the television program.

He recounted how his two surgeries took place and referred to the complex process of recovery he has had, while highlighting the excellent qualities of the Cuban medical staff treating him.

Likewise, he underlined the constant attention he has received from the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and President Raul Castro.

In addition, the Round Table also tackled the repercussion Chavez’ message to his people from Cuba has had since Thursday evening, in which he informed about his disease and the process of recovery.

Journalists Arleen Rodriguez and Barbara Betancourt referred to the wave of support for the Venezuelan head of state.

The program showed images of the mass meeting in support of Chavez that took place at the Simon Bolivar Square in Caracas and of those in other cities of the South American nation.

Many were the messages of encouragement and  the demonstrations of love of the Venezuelan people towards the head of state, and also those of presidents Evo Morales, of Bolivia; Rafael Correa, of Ecuador; Cristina Fernandez, of Argentina; and Daniel Ortega, of Nicaragua, which the Bolivarian leader referred to in his telephone conversation with the Round Table.
