Chavez Expects to Return to Venezuela Soon. CUBA, July 2nd, 2011.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez said Friday that he was optimistic about his recovery and expected to go home soon. "We're optimistic and we know we'll get over this," Chávez told Cuban television by phone, referring to his recovery after undergoing two operations. Chavez also said he received phone calls from the leaders of Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia and Nicaragua who sent him messages of solidarity. Chávez confirmed he was in Cuba receiving cancer treatment after a tumour-removal surgery, which followed a June 10th operation for a pelvic abscess. (Cubaminrex-RHC) |
