Fidel-Chavez Meeting Footage Shown in Cuba CUBA, June 30, 2011.- Video footage of an encounter between leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was broadcast in Cuba on Wednesday afternoon. Cuba's TV news program showed the 20-minute material with the two politicians recalling anecdotes and passages from previous meetings, as well as foreign policy issues. Chavez, accompanied by his daughters Virginia and Rosines, and a granddaughter, recalled the trip they both made to Canaima, an indigenous village in southern Venezuela, in 2001, and cited some comments made at the time by Fidel Castro, who was very impressed with the landscape. "You told me that it was the most beautiful place in the world," he said. The Venezuelan president is satisfactorily recovering from a pelvic abscess surgery in Havana. (Cubaminrex-Prensa Latina)
