Peru’s Ollanta Humala Arrives in Cuba for Presidential Talks


CUBA, July 19, 2011.- Ollanta Humala, president-elect of Peru, arrived in Cuba on Tuesday morning for a working visit, at the invitation of Cuban President Raúl Castro.

"We have come to visit a sister people and share an open agenda with the President," said Humala upon his arrival at Havana’s International Airport, where he was welcomed by Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

During his Cuba visit, Humala is expected to hold official talks with President Raul Castro among other activities.

Peruvian President-elect arrived to the Caribbean island from Mexico, where he met President Felipe Calderón, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral ties and regional integration. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
