Hugo Chavez Recovers from Surgery in Havana and Speaks with TELESUR HAVANA, June 13, 2011.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is recovering very well from a successful surgical procedure. On Sunday, Chavez received visits by both Fidel and Raul Castro and was out of bed for more than one hour. During a 30-minute interview broadcast on TELESUR TV, the Venezuelan president praised the good care and medical treatment he is receiving from Cuba's advanced health care system. He noted that he had a pelvic abscess that was not malignant and was not infected. Chavez said that his return to Venezuela depends on his progress, and expressed his affection and appreciation to the Venezuelan people for their expressions of support. He said that he spoke on several occasions yesterday with Vice President Elias Jaua and noted that he enacted the Official Indebtedness Law, which is being published Monday in the Gazette.
