New Health Professionals of the Cuban Medical Brigade Take Oath in Jamaica JAMAICA, June 20, 2011.- Last Saturday, June 18, the oath-taking ceremony of the 50 Cuban health specialists who arrived in Jamaica in January and May this year, was held at the Embassy of Cuba in Kingston. Opportunity was taken, within the framework of this solemn ceremony, to commemorate another anniversary of the births of Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Che Guevara, while it was recalled, the heroic stance of our five heroes, antiterrorist fighters who are unjustly imprisoned in the U.S. Dr. María C. Carbó, Head of the Medical Brigade, read the Code of Conduct of the new specialists, while Nurse Ana Iris Zequeira read the text of the oath to the health professionals. In his address, Ambassador Yuri Gala López, highlighted the outstanding work the Medical Brigade is carrying out and recalled that, after signing the Code of Conduct, those 50 health specialists had reaffirmed their commitment with the mission entrusted in this Caribbean sister nation.
