Cuban Women's Leader Visits El Salvador
President Mauricio Funes will officially open the first government-run Ciudad Mujer (Women City) project, to provide services for women and improve their living conditions. The program will be chaired by Minister of Social Inclusion Vanda Pignato, who is also First Lady. During her stay in El Salvador, Ferrer will meet with officials from the Salvadoran Institute for Women's Development, an organization that defends the rights of women and others. On Tuesday, Ferrer will attend the first official ceremony to mark National Missing Children's Day, dedicated to boys and girls who went missing during the 1980-1992 military conflict.
